Nathan’s first impromptu Adventure…
On the way home from Alsace we were parked at a gas station along the highway so that I could feed Nate, when Manu said “Look at those beautiful Alps. I don’t want to go home yet. Want to go to Gstaad?” I quickly hoped on AirBnB and found a supper cheap place, and off we were. When we got to Gstaad (PS incase you don’t know, Gstaad is one of the most La-Ti-Da resort towns in Switzerland) Manu wanted a beer and I still had some work to do so we unloaded our bags, put Nate in the stroller and headed downtown. The only place open was a bar / club, so we toasted to our new family and another fabulous MnZ Adventure.
As we were strolling through the empty cobblestone streets lined with designer boutiques and beautifully soft ambient light coming from the five-star hotels in perfectly kept chateaus perched on the surrounding mountain tops, we looked at each other and were full of happiness, excitement, and love. It is so crazy that you think you love your partner more than anything, and all of a sudden you learn that there is this entirely new level of love that you didn’t even know existed before.
In order to “have it all” you have to be willing to do it all.
I am seriously working in a bar in Gstaad, while having a glass of wine, with my son, at midnight in this picture.

The perfect morning – Coffee in bed, down comforters, classical music, and our little Prince.
After touring an empty four story mansion in downtown Gstaad, we chose to sleep on the top floor in a big open room with literally nothing in it except two matreses on the floor. In the morning we learned the property was owned by the Presbyterian church and used for church camps, and random visitors like us. Gotta love AirBnB!

Now that Manu is done with Volley, we get to go on team slogs

One of my new favorite pastimes, reading on the couch with a sleeping Nathan on my chest
